True partner of proximity, our team of specialists brings to its candidates its expertise, its network and its time. We are currently looking for Control Officer, for a private bank based in Monaco.
DUTIES
•Define, implement, review and improve the controls and risk management processes required to effectively support client-facing teams in delivering a strong and consistent risk management and control environment.
•Provide guidance on, as well as enforcement of, the risk management focus (embodied by the Enterprise Risk Management Framework) to ensure that the Business can effectively manage and monitor its own risks and performance without the unnecessary intervention from 2nd line of defence Control Functions (e.g. Operational Risk, Compliance, Financial Crime etc). In managing risks and performance it is important that the role can analyse and identify gaps in the sales processes and systems flows to ensure that these are appropriately escalated and addressed.
•Additionally oversee all first level testing activity arising from the control design, as well as having overall responsibility for the delivery of Conduct ‘Scorecard’ data to provide the necessary support for consideration and assessment of employee Conduct at an individual, team and platform level; the latter to include activity of non-domestic (cross-booked) employees utilising the Monaco platform.
•Be responsible for the design, delivery & reporting of controls and metrics that provide clear visibility of risks and behaviours within the business and ensure that issues are identified and escalated to relevant stakeholders and/or governance forums.
•Take an active part in Risk and Governance fora as well as be expected to manage senior stakeholders. As a control function the role may, in the future, require local regulatory registration and / or approval.
•Provide platform ‘subject matter expertise’ on key control topics including (but not limited to) cross-border activity, restrictions and requirements, implementation of suitability and (in conjunction with 2nd line functions) provide a detailed ‘point of reference’ in respect of regulatory and technical requirements as they relate to the provision of investment advice and service.Extrapolate this subject matter expertise to provide guidance and information to Senior Management, whether by way of direct engagement, participation in risk & control for a, provision of management information and/or participation and consultation in platform and process improvement projects.
PROFILE
The ideal candidate will have a degree level qualification or equivalent. Strong English language skills are essential. He should also have the ability to multi-task and prioritise. He must be structured & analytical whilst still demonstrating a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach.
