We are currently looking for a CREDIT RISK OFFICER, for a private bank based in Monaco.
DUTIES
The Credit Officer will work under the supervision of the Head of Credit. He supports that person, in strong relationship with the existing Credit Officer, in the sanctioning and control of advances processed through the Monaco platform.
Credit sanctioning:
•To analyse and sanction under his discretionary limits or recommend for sanction new Credit Proposals with a
•risk and compliance approach, set credit paper for local and head office Credit Committees, setting up the credit risk workflow and limit management.
•To ensure that credit proposals have been sanctioned in the respect of the Bank Lending discretions.
•To liaise with the Private Banking teams and the Credit Structuring Manager and to provide active assistance on all credit-related and credit policy.
•To follow the existing lending book to ensure that annual reviews and renewal requests are done on a timely basis.
•To input, review and approve transactions in the IT system (CIS) where Credit validation is required.
Risk Control with regards portfolio of credit:
To monitor the day to day client positions in order
•to ensure the respect of authorised limits and respect of security margins,
•to detect any clients with non approved credit exposures,
•to request and sanction Excess Report where appropriate
•to report to the Head of Credit any unusual or out of order positions.
Management Information/Credit Committee Support:
•To issue statistics and reports as required (notably to participate in credit risk related reporting to the local regulatory authorities)
•To assist Credit Risk for any remediation actions.
•To carry out the secretariat function for the Monaco Credit Committee as required
•To ensure the production of qualitative indicators
PROFILE
Academic and professional qualifications supported by strong practical experience of at least 5 years banking experience in a credit risk or credit administration environment. Experience in the daily monitoring of advances as regards limit and collateral breaches. Experience in French property purchase / mortgage procedures and legal process. A working knowledge of Investment Leverage / Lombard lending / Derivatives products / Corporate financing. Credit analysis skills (Corporate, Private Banking, Credit Products, Legal skills). Good knowledge of preparing and presenting Management Information. Fluent English spoken and written
